I have been a life long fan of NASCAR and I can say without a doubt that this is the first time I have been completely disappointed with the way NASCAR conducted their business. I could not believe what NASCAR allowed Tony Stewart to get away with. He intentionally wrecks a person and he has to go to the end of the longest line, what a joke. That accident could have resulted in the “BIG ONE” causing serious damage and or injuries or deaths and all he gets is a smack on the hand.
However the person he intentionally wrecked bumps him (Stewart) a bit and he is “black flagged” and forced to go a couple laps down, how idiotic. I refused to believe that because Stewart is the defending champion and a crowd favorite that he was treated differently than Kenseth.
Up until now I have never liked Matt Kenseth, I didn’t believe he was all that good and then on top of that he was Rookie of the Year when it should have been Jr. Be that as it may, I was very impressed with Kenseth’s statements and how professional he was after the race. He didn’t ad things that didn’t need to be said. He simply stated the obvious, “Stewart wrecked me intentionally”.
Tony Stewart’s comments after the race however, were completely unprofessional. He said something like “he started and I finished it”. Well to me that is not only childish, but very unprofessional. Yes, Matt Kenseth did get him loose early in the race and Stewart brilliantly saved the car from what looked like certain disaster. But, I seem to remember 1 and half laps later Stewart was in the lead. I also remember that Stewart drove up under Matt Kenseth and that is what caused his car to get loose, so who is actually at fault here.
Tony Stewart preached all week about aggressive driving, does this apply to everyone but him. I want to know what race NASCAR was watching because Tony Stewart was the most aggressive driver on the track and the least penalized for it. Tail end of the longest line my butt, that was ridiculous. Tony should have been made to go into the pits and serve a 3 or 5 lap penalty. Why not, NASCAR makes the rules as they go along anyway or at least it seems that way.
I came away from this race feeling very disappointed about NASCAR. When you have a guy like Carl Edwards apologizing and taking responsibility for a wreck that was clearly not his fault and what seemed to be unavoidable shows that there are some truly stand up guys in NASCAR.
Funny thing about all of this is my favorite driver one the race anyhow, but Tony Stewart did not deserve a top 10 finish and in all reality I hope and beg to the NASCAR gods that Stewart’s season is plagued with DNF’s, wrecks, and with any luck an injury that would keep him from ever driving in NASCAR again. I know that seems harsh, but then a man that doesn’t care about his fellow racers to the degree that Stewart showed this weekend deserves the worst possible outcome. I can truly say now that I am a fan of whoever puts Tony Stewart in the wall.

I like the longer story better than my short one. I'd only fall short of wishing Stewart would get physically hurt. You could break his bones, but that would not injure him nearly as bad as simply throwing him out of NASCAR forever.

Why not? Didn't Jimmy Spencer get parked one time? Oh, I'm sorry...I forgot Mister Excitement is not as important as Stewart.

After all the decades, it was strange to me when the cup changed from Winston to Nextel. It just didn't sound right at first. Now it does. This morning I was struck by a catch phrase, "Nextel me who Tony wrecked this time."

Maybe NASCAR should change their handle to JERKS - Justifying Every Random Killing by Stewart.

Or for a more wrestling-esque ring, they could do WWTWW - Wonder Who Tony Will Wreck.

Yeah, I agree with you guys totally! I could not believe, after hearing him complaining about bump drafting all last week, how he acted yesterday. He, being the Champion last year, should set a better example.

I agree with what you said, mmuratorri, about Carl Edwards. Hearing him apologize, after he himself, was not able to finish the race. I think that he showed alot of class! He and Mark Martin are my favorite drivers.

Stewart is a fantastic driver. They all are.

Stewart does not belong on that track. He is an emotionally unstable individual. He's sick. Scary. Get rid of him.

look. even jeff gordon and mark martin say he is a great driver.
The Kenseth thing was justified. in testing kenseth DESTROYED one of the cars that JGR had desigated as tony's test car. even though tony skipped testing the development driver was spun by kenseth. LAY OFF THE MAN FOR ONCE!!! DALE SR. AND JR. LIKED HIM, WHY CAN'T YOU?!?

OH, if you watch the allstar tapes, kenseth lied about stweart in the interwiew. he said that stewart came at him from the grass, while the tapes clearly show stewart on the track and if you know ANYTHING about any type of car, you can tell the wreck happened because stewart was lose. DONT REMOVE TONY! REMOVE JIMMIE JONSON! HE WRECKED OTHER DRIVERS 78 TIMES LAST SEASON!!

This is absolutely the most childish, immature and uncalled for post I have ever seen. I've seen 12 year olds with better manners.

I HATE Jimmie Johnson but I wouldnt go so far as to make a post like this, bashing him. Wishing harm on anyone is a terrible thing to do. Remember what your mother told you, if you cant say anything nice DONT say anything at all!
