I am a game programmer from the US Midwest, and I am creating a game based on stock car racing.

I really would love to hang out and look around and ask and recieve a few questions! I won't spam the forums, but I will be glad to answer questions.

I am programming the game now, and wanted to get the straight skinny from the fans of the sport, the ones that love stock car racing in it's many forms.

Thanks!

The Programmer.

Wow! That is cool. I wish there was more good stock car racing games to choose from. What type of information are you looking for?

Well since the market is so wide open, and the info for NASCAR style games is not as well versed as I would like, trying libraries and college universities, and online resources, I am looking to making the best realistic game.

There are a lot of console games that visit the driver's side, but what about something on the management/business side of the game? Say from a crew chief or owner's standpoint?

Would that be of any interest?

Now that is quite an idea!
Like a pit crew that races against time to get the car out. Or a like Caution Alley, where you are racing along and all of a sudden a Yellow Caution comes out and everyone races like hell to the finish line in a tandrant :)

Or you may have a Simms like game where someone builds a race team, gets the sponsors, contracts the drivers and crew. That would be cool.

Something along those lines karl... You get to manage the team with as little or more detail as you would like. Like an owner mode where you can't adjust the raceday gameplan, but interact with the crew chief, sponsors, drivers, and racing circuit governing body.

Or crew chief mode where you interact with driver(s), pit crew, owner, sponsors, circuit governing body, set your raceday gameplan, spy on your competitors, test setups, race in the minor circuits, scout possible hires for your organization..

Just a few ideas out there. More of a sports simulation game, where you aren't the driver, but you have to react to your team's skillset and your drivers'.
