What do you think about Japanese cars in Nascar?

They're running (and winning some) in the Craftsman Truck Series. Moving into Nextel Cup Racing is a normal progression.

Makes you wonder when NASCAR is going to allow fuel injection motors. Keeping carb motors as the standard while delaying the introduction of technology that was available in the early '80s only makes the sport we love that much more arcaine.

Oh, and just in case you missed the headlines, the "Japs" are building vehicles in the US of A now.

Let me tell you this. The Japs will do what they did with offroad racing a couple years ago. they'll storm the series, then leaver to torment another division. THANK GOD THEY SUCK AT F1!

I have no problem with it. It will provide more jobs at the top level and increase competition with the other manufactures. Anytime someone wants to invest in the greatest sport in America I'm all for it.

I am with you Redneckracer! I think the more people of different nationalities become interested, the better for the sport.

I think that NASCAR just takes whatever their complaining fans want and then they end up complaining about it somemore and I think that this time NASCAR made a big mistake.

All,

NASCAR started out as a Southern Boys Sport and required until the introduction of the "Standard Greenhouse" that all cars submitted for competition use the production car's sheet metal. With the Car of Tomorrow, NASCAR has become an "Experimental" cars racing series. With that being said, what is stock about a stock car anymore? Absolutely nothing.

Until January 2, 2007, NASCAR ruled the sport of stock car racing. On that day, Heart Corporation (famous for their 8 second Blazer Delivery Coupes) completed acquisition of Unlimied Stock Car Automobile Racing (USCAR) and effectively gives the France family a run for their money. Go USCAR!

I have mixed feelings about this, on on hand it could bring new technolgy and competetion for the sport but I also believe that NASCAR is the American sport and should remain that way, Yes some of the cars are made here but, I think the should stick with motorcross.

Toyota has done well in the Truck Series. The natural progression is to get their cars in. I don't really see a problem.
